Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions lead you on this Amazon Jungle Tours, were it is idealized for those interested in discovering the Amazon forest in a more authentic way. That is, among the native people of the Amazon. The activities of this Jungle tour are similar to those of other packages but done with the local people out in the jungle.

The lodge.

The Juma floating lodge its located 100 kilometers south of Manaus in the Juma reserve which is an area rich in flora and fauna. The lodge was built over special thongs of trees on the water preserving the natural environment which is very important for forest preservation. The accommodation is in private rooms with air conditioning, fans and a bathroom. It is a simple and clean place, perfect for small groups interested in exploring the Amazon Jungle. The capacity of the lodge is 24 people. The lodge has electricity with 110 volts which provides clients with the opportunity to recharge batteries of equipment such as cameras and others. The main meals -lunch and dinner- are generally prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits.


Meeting of the waters tour, piranha fishing, night spearfishing, dolphin watching, watching the sunrise and sunset, Cayman spotting at night, jungle trekking, visiting a local family and travel within small creeks.


Day one:

At 08:00am transfer from your hotel to the Ceasa port where a speed boat will take you to the meeting of the waters, the point where the Rio Negro and the Solimões rivers meet. From there visit the Careiro Village on the other side of the Solimões river. Your trip continues by car or van for about an hour to the Paraná do Mamori River. Take another speed boat to the lodge arriving there at about 11:30am.
At 03:0pm, more activities for your day begin. By boat the group will leave out to recognized the area and with explanation by the guide about the flora and fauna of the area that the group will be exploring for the next days and finally watch the spectacular sunset out in the Amazon. Dinner is served at 07:00pm, after dinner another canoe ride takes the groups to Cayman spotting.

Day two:

Early, at 5:30am take a canoe trip to watch the sunrise along with listening to the sounds of the rainforest waking up to a new day. Back at the lodge, have breakfast and then at 8am leave by boat to the sport were the jungle trek begins which takes up the rest of the morning (11:30am). During the walk, your guide shares valuable knowledge on the local medicinal plants, trees and insects such as spiders. If you are lucky, there is even a chance of spotting curious monkeys. Back to the Lodge, Lunch is served. In the afternoon, at 3pm, the group will leave by boat to the sport among the river were will have the chance to fish for the Piranhas, and during the boat ride back to the lodge enjoy the sounds of the birds and other animals of the surrounding of the jungle. Overnight at the lodge.

Day three:

From 8am to 11am, the group goes to visit the home of a local family to see and learn their simple and fantastic way of living in the forest. After lunch at 3pm the group leaves by boat to explore the small channels, were this would be good chance to spot some birds, monkeys, Caymans and dolphins.

Day Four:

Breakfast is served, at 08:00am the group will leave to do another hiking on the Vazea (From April to August this tour is done by Boat since it is an area that can flooded) during this hiking the group will learn more about the rain forest and also the chance to spot some more wild life that can be find only in that area like the 3 told slot. Back to the lodge, the lunch is served. At 1:30pm they return to Manaus, getting there at about 4:30pm.
